What's New: A Month of FDA Approvals & Saved Results
Four cancer drugs approved and captured the same cycle, the ability to save or email your matches, sharper matching across a dozen cancers — and our first step beyond oncology.
Four FDA Approvals, Captured the Same Cycle
When a drug is approved, that's often the exact moment a patient starts searching for it — so this month we focused on turning approvals into up-to-date pages fast. Four stood out:
- Daraxonrasib (RASONQUE) — approved for pancreatic cancer, and a genuine milestone: it's the first therapy to directly target RAS, the mutation that drives the large majority of pancreatic cancers and was long considered "undruggable." Its page and the pancreatic cancer trials page were refreshed within a day of the decision.
- Zanidatamab (Ziihera) — already on the site for biliary cancer, it was approved this month for first-line HER2-positive gastric, gastroesophageal-junction, and esophageal cancer (with chemotherapy and tislelizumab). In its trial, it extended median overall survival to 26.4 vs 19.2 months versus the prior standard. It's the first HER2 bispecific antibody approved in the first-line gastroesophageal setting.
- Iberdomide — a next-generation CELMoD (the successor class to lenalidomide and pomalidomide) for multiple myeloma, with a new page covering its recruiting trials.
- RP1 (Tudriqev) — a first-in-class oncolytic immunotherapy (a modified virus that attacks tumors and rallies the immune system), granted accelerated approval with nivolumab for advanced melanoma that has progressed on anti-PD-1 therapy.
Five New Drug Pages
If you've heard a specific drug name and want to know which trials are actively recruiting for it, the drug catalog gained five pages this month — each showing how the drug works, its recruiting trials grouped by cancer, and the trial names you can search to read further:
- Iberdomide (CC-220) — next-generation CELMoD for multiple myeloma
- RP1 (Tudriqev, vusolimogene oderparepvec) — oncolytic virus immunotherapy for advanced melanoma
- Padcev (enfortumab vedotin) — a first-in-class Nectin-4 antibody-drug conjugate for bladder / urothelial cancer
- Zidesamtinib (Jideytro) — the first ROS1-selective, brain-penetrant targeted therapy for ROS1-positive non-small cell lung cancer
- Giredestrant — an investigational oral SERD (selective estrogen receptor degrader) for ER-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer, currently under FDA Priority Review

A New Frontier: Our First Non-Cancer Page
Until now, every landing page on ClinTrialFinder covered a cancer. That's not because the underlying matching only works for cancer — it works for any condition with recruiting trials — but because cancer is where we started. This month we published our first non-cancer page: obesity and weight-loss trials.
It's a deliberately chosen first step. Obesity research is in a remarkable moment — the page covers the full incretin frontier (GLP-1 drugs like semaglutide, GLP-1/GIP combinations like tirzepatide, triple-agonists like retatrutide, oral options, and amylin combinations) alongside device and surgical trials. If you or someone you know is looking for a weight-loss trial, the same guided matching that powers our cancer search now works here too. It's a pilot — whether we expand into more non-cancer conditions depends on whether it proves genuinely useful.
A Dedicated HER2-Positive Breast Cancer Page
Breast cancer isn't one disease, and HER2-positive breast cancer has its own drugs, its own trial pipeline, and its own decisions — so it now has its own page: HER2-positive breast cancer trials. It walks through how HER2 status is confirmed (IHC and ISH testing), the 2026 standard-of-care sequence, and recruiting trials grouped by setting — including a section on brain-metastasis and next-generation antibody-drug conjugate trials that patients specifically ask about. If your tumor is HER2-positive, it's a more focused starting point than the general breast cancer page.
Save or Email Your Results
A trial search returns a lot to absorb, and most people don't decide in one sitting. So the results page now lets you save or email your matches to yourself — so you can come back to them later, or bring them to your next appointment without re-running the search.
There's also a new export button that formats your matches for a follow-up conversation with an AI assistant — handy if you want to ask detailed questions about a specific trial's eligibility in your own words.
Sharper Matching Across More Cancers
Much of August's work isn't a visible new page — it's making the matching itself more precise for specific cancers, so the trials that fit your situation surface more reliably:
- More biomarker options for the cancers where they matter most. We expanded the biomarker and staging questions for non-small cell lung cancer, glioblastoma, acute myeloid leukemia, small cell lung cancer, colorectal cancer (including left- vs right-sided disease), and kidney cancer — so the wizard can capture the details that actually change which trials are relevant.
- Matching that fits where you are in treatment. The system now weighs your line of therapy and treatment history more carefully — filtering out trials that don't fit your current situation (for example, first-line-only studies for someone already past first line), and better surfacing options for recurrent or previously-treated disease, including prostate cancer (biochemical recurrence and salvage settings) and ovarian cancer (platinum-sensitive vs platinum-resistant).
- Safer, more relevant results for age and fitness. Trials with an age minimum above a patient's age are now filtered out, and your treatment status and other health conditions feed into the safety notes shown on each trial.
- Fewer wrong-cancer trials. We tightened the rules that decide when a trial listed under a different cancer genuinely applies to you — so cross-cancer matches stay useful without flooding your results.
- More reliable searches. If our servers restart while your search is running, it now resumes where it left off instead of failing — a search in progress won't be lost.
Smaller Improvements
- Share a trial or your results. Trial detail and results pages now have a share button, so it's easier to send a promising trial to family or your care team.
- Tell us if a result was helpful. A simple thumbs-up / thumbs-down on each result lets you flag matches that were (or weren't) useful — feedback that helps us improve the matching.
- A clearer sense of location reach. Result cards now indicate how far a trial's sites are from you.
- A faster path from a drug to its trials. Starting a search from a drug page now takes fewer clicks to reach your matches.
- Clearer waits and confirmations. The search now sets expectations about how long it takes, and double-checks details like your email before submitting.
- A demo video on the homepage. A short walkthrough of how the search works — for anyone who wants to see it before diving in.
- Fresher trial listings. We audited the disease pages and removed studies that are no longer recruiting, and added an automatic monitor so the "recruiting" lists stay genuinely current.
